Civil War Medicine Trailer
This is a brief voice over, two segments, for a fund raising/grant application trailer for a documentary series on Civil War medicine. The fee for this read is $150.

The speaker in the film is Bennett Young. In this segment he is a 75 year old Confederate Civil War Veteran, giving a speech at the site of a former Prisoner of War camp and cemetery in Ohio, Camp Chase.
He is from Kentucky; he is a cultured man and he should present with a certain gravitas in these two readings.

Script Details

1. In the Revolutionary War, 3,000 dead and 4,500 wounded, while in this one battle 43,000 were wounded or killed.
Only those who participated in the struggle can conceive what horrors hovered about this spot, now forever historic in the world’s annals.

2. It was my privilege to make one of the first speeches delivered over Confederate graves north of the Ohio River at Camp Chase, Ohio. Five thousand people came to witness these exercises.
A broad-minded Federal soldier had inaugurated amongst the people of Columbus the custom of annually strewing flowers on the graves of these men who had died so far from their homes.
Over the entrance to the cemetery a generous hand had written these thrilling words: “These were all Americans”.
