CASEL Social and Emotional Learning

We are creating an intro animation to Casel's District Resource website to explain Casel's mission and what the their learnings and resources can provide school districts, schools, educators and children across the country. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a concept to educate the whole child and not just one aspect. By working with 11 large school districts across the country, Casel has organized all the lessons learned and best practices into a functional website so that other districts can learn how to implement SEL into their schools.

By prioritizing, Evidenced-based explicit instruction in Social and Emotional learning, Infusion of SEL into academic instruction, An inspiring and supportive classroom and school climate And positive engagement with families and communities -- Schools can promote positive outcomes that support the success of all children in school and in life.

To create schools across entire districts that foster these outcomes, districts must take a systemic approach that includes practices, policies and supports for SEL in schools.

Since 2011, through the Collaborating Districts Initiative, CASEL has partnered with districts using our Theory of Action – a district framework for systemic SEL.

This work has led to meaningful insights and powerful results, inspiring districts around the country to prioritize SEL. To support this growing effort, we’ve gathered the learnings, best practices, and artifacts all in one place to create the District Resource Center.

CASEL is here to collaborate –driven by the ultimate goal of helping students to become inspired, engaged and successful in school, career and life —by making learnings accessible, and research actionable for any district.
