Cannabidiol is capable of affecting nearly every biological process – including the functioning of the ECS – but it raises some eyebrows due to its source.

Let’s bust some myths.
Myth 1: Hemp and marijuana are the same.
Hemp and marijuana are part of the same species, both made up of around 70 cannabinoids, including CBD and THC, but there are significant differences.

Myth 2: CBD from hemp can get you high.
While CBD and THC are the two main compounds in these plants, CBD is non-psychotoxic. In other words, it can’t get you high. Cannabidiol actually appears to have anti-psychotic properties, and may be neuroprotective in humans.

Myth 3: Only CBD from marijuana impacts the ECS
False. The human body doesn’t recognize whether CBD is sourced from hemp or a high-THC strain of cannabis. The body’s response to hemp-derived CBD is no less impactful.
