Broken Vessels Bible Study 60-75 second spot - Directed by Eleven Eighteen Creative
We all encounter messes from time to time. Relationships can be messy. Finances can be messy. Work, sickness, trials and tribulations -- lots of circumstances can produce messes that we have to clean up before we can move forward. And usually we can clean them up; it just takes a little time and a lot of effort.
There are other times, however, when life itself seems like a mess. These are times when it feels like something is broken inside us -- like we are broken.
The Bible describes us as jars of clay. We're fragile vessels carrying within us a treasure of incredible value. That treasure is the gospel. And the message of the gospel is that God can bring grace and comfort to us no matter how big a mess we've made of our lives. Just as important, God can use our experiences to bring grace and comfort to other "broken vessels" who need hope in the midst of their own messes.
Second Corinthians 4:7 says: “Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us." We are broken vessels, but this great treasure—the good news of Jesus Christ—shines through our brokenness. And that’s a truth worth celebrating.
