The average person speaks between 7,000 and 20,000 words per day.
The ability to speak is something many of us take for granted.
But imagine not being able to speak at all. Not being able to ask a question, to say what you want to eat, or tell your mom about your day.
More than one billion people around the world have a disability. For many, even though they have things to say, their bodies won’t allow them to say it.
And as difficult as it is to have a disability in the United States, it’s even more difficult if you live in a poorer country.
In Brazil, for example, people with disabilities have few opportunities to attend school, to get around, or communicate in their own language.
There has to be a way for people with disabilities to communicate, no matter where they live.
How would you solve this problem?
