Boston Crusaders Wicked Games Script/Notes

We are looking for for voice actors with a “Hollywood Puritan Accent” from the late 1600’s/early 1700’s. The voice overs will be used for a drum and bugle corps show titled. “Wicked games”If you would like a reference, we like the accent in the beginning of this youtube video. The video is a music video made for the rush song “With Hunt” However the actors in the beginning are from a movie called “Twins of Evil”

Rush Witch Hunt

Twins of Evil

The inspiration of this show is a fairly straight forward Salem Witch Hunt scenario. The show starts out with a ritual that is observed by townspeople. After this ritual is observed, the townspeople start to whisper about the ritual, and eventually accuse the main character of being a witch. At this point, a witch hunt is organized and the townspeople eventually capture and execute the main character. The voice overs below should follow the character of this story line.

The main segments of the show are-
Final Verdict

Here are the actual words that we need performed.

These will be performed by multiple voice actors, it should be almost conversational between them. For your reference, here is a soundcloud link to a computer mockup of this moment. These coversational moments go at :25 in the soundcloud link above.
1. “It was her . . .” (exclamation in disgust)
2. “She did it . . .” (response in Disgust)

The following items should be said in disgust as well. You can reference the music at :34-:44 in the soundcloud link above.

The following items should be almost screamed, These are the accusations of the townspeople. As far as timing goes, these exclamations are are in time with performed music. I would not worry about getting is exact, I will be able to manipulate the timing of it to get it close. If you would like a reference, you can hear a mockup of this effect at :50 seconds in the soundcloud link above.

4. Liar!
5. Monster!
6. Evil !
7. Demon!
8. Satan!

In this portion of the program we are exposing multiple characters. The names in the list below need to be read in an almost matter of fact manner, as if a list of names of the accused are being read in a public courtyard. These names will be intermixed with 2 accusation found below. There is not a solid reference on what this is in the audio file, however the moment where it goes is found at 1:59-2:17

“Bridget Bishop “
“Rebecca Nurse”
“Sarah Good “
“Elizabeth Howe “
“Susannah Martin”
“Sarah Wildes “
“George Burroughs”
“John Proctor “
“John Willard “
“Mary Parker “
“Margaret Scott”
“Samuel Wardwell”

The following items will be read in between the list of names above in an accusatory fashion.

The following should be VERY aggressive Accusations. FOund at 2:25-2:25 in the file. The words on the mockup are different, there are just the right character and energy.

The final moment of this production is a crowd chanting Witch into an explosive exclamation of Witch. This moment happens at 2:40-2:47 We need “Witch!” Recorded in multiple intensities crescendoing into a final “Witch!!” We would like this to be a crowd, however we are mainly looking for “solo”voices in the crowd at this point.

“The Hunt”

The last thing we need recorded is multiple inflections of the phrase “Get Her”. This is going at the beginning of the segment of the show where the witch is being hunted. It needs to culminate with a Declaratory, Aggressive scream of the crowd to “Get Her!” We need some that range in the realm of calmer-all the way to the ending shout. If you would like to reference the mood of this moment, use this soundcloud link.

The exclamations of “Guilty” will be replaced with “Get Her” in the final version. The voice over “and then she shall burn” will be replaced with the last “Get Her” exclamation.

Final Verdict

This is the last moment of the show. The verict is read to the courtroom and the witch is then executed.

"… it is this courts conclusion that you, Bridget Bishop, hath maliciously practiced the detestable arts of witchcraft and sorcery in this town of Salem. You are hereby sentenced to suffer pain of death for your wicked ways. May God have mercy... on… your… Soul!"
