Project Main Details

American Whiskey Revolution
This is a promo trailer for a whiskey documentary. We're looking for a Sam Elliott, Keith David type of voice. Some grit, but not over the top. Natural feeling with a conversational tone. We are telling the story of whiskey in America so there is a little refined gruffness to it.

Script Details

the american spirit. a true independent.

As whiskey sits and ages in its freshly charred oak barrel, something magical happens. In the years that it takes for the whiskey to mature, a portion of the spirit is evaporated -- ghosted into the air -- like an untold story. This elusive portion is known as the, “angel's share."

American music and whiskey grew up together. people came to America with their songs and their recipes for whiskey and a thirst for something new.

The two came together and formed a spirit of their own. one of adventure, rich storytelling and folklore, a pioneer that spirit is still very much alive.

the Angels share is the story of that american, independent spirit.

songs take a lot of experimenting and tinkering, you never quite know when it's "there" . same goes for whiskey, how long do you age it, how much corn, rye, malt... this is what keeps us coming back for more, we keep trying new whiskey, and searching for new music that "gets" how we're feeling...

Across america small batch, independent distilleries are popping up overnight. Each with their own unique way of crafting whiskey. American roots music has been stitched so tightly in the fabric of our history, from early pioneer music to delta blues, jazz, folk, country, rock, and the singer songwriters of today…its hard to imagine where music would be today without whiskey greasing the wheels.

Traveling around America, visiting distillers and musicians along the way, hearing about their craft and about what makes their songs and their whiskey unique. With special performances in the aging rooms.

The Angels share.

A tale of American whiskey and American music.

Their roots run deep and tell a tangled tale.
