11302 CK 2017 Radio X 3 ZD2305495
You will need to be able to connect via either ISDN, Source Connect, Source Connect Now, or ipDTL. We have three :30 radio spots featuring two talent per spot. We will be selecting six voice-actors. I am including only one script for demo purposes, but you may be chosen to play a different character on a different spot. The concept is a simple conversation, taking place in a car, between two people. These are real people, either good friends or spouses. The overall tone of the performance needs to be humorous. For the purpose of the audition, since one of the characters has the funnier lines and one is drier, it would be ideal if you could perform both parts so we can hear how you handle both sides of the comedy.

This is a non-union project
These characters are regular people. So character in a sense that you need to act like the person in the scene. Non-announcer. Must have acting chops and be funny.
This is just the character part of the spot. Which will be :15-ish. Announcer tag comes after, just so you are aware that we don't have the full :30 for only the lines below.
SFX: Sound of Car Door slamming shut, and someone getting in to a car.
Person 1: “Hey Alex, what you got there?”
Alex: “It’s a Polar Pop Cup”.
Person 1: “Polar pop? Okay... so... what’s in it?”
Alex: “Oh just a little... (takes a sip through straw and voice changes slightly, like a movie-trailer announcer) ...Alex’s Super Slammer-Get Ya Goin’ in Da Mornin'- Quicker Fixer Mixer.
Person 1: Woah! I need one of those. (Or) Wow. Quite a beverage. (Feel free to riff on this line with some alternate reactionary words or phrases. Like Yowza, Hey! Wow. Great googily moogily! Whatever comes to mind. The idea is to express shock or surprise. Of course, you could also downplay it too. Like your just staring unamused and unfazed at Alex's, over-dramatic trailer-voice outburst. So your tone is flat. Like..."Huh. That's surprising. Or whatever you think works.
NOTE: Regarding Alex's movie trailer voice, we'd like to hear some options here too. Examples like a radio DJ, a monster-truck show announcer, whatever you think is funny. We'd rather hear more options than just one, if you're up for it. The point is have fun with it. We love working with voice-actors that bring something to the table. ;)
