I've produced/narrated several audiobooks for various authors most recently for Steven Moore and his Hiram Kane action/adventure series set in various locations all over the world. These allow me to showcase my accent capabilities very well. I've voiced character work for the serialized horror podcast, Sirenicide. I've also voiced in-store spot promos for retail department stores. I've narrated web explainer videos - the most recent for Swiffer, Mariott Renaissance Hotels, and the Mars Corporation.
Additionally I've read for attorney George Mauze in San Antonio, TX. I produced the narration for his DVD settlement presentations for two of his ongoing cases.
I have a Bachelor of Arts from UTSA in English and Anthropology. I've also performed in dozens of live productions - dramas, comedies, musicals, murder mystery theater, MC for Beauty Pageants, DJ for nightclubs, etc...
I love doing voice over work. I remember affecting accents as a child constantly when interacting with my friends, my parents, teachers and other adults. This translated into live performances and voice over work of all descriptions as I grew older. Performing is a great passion of mine.
It's really all about the authenticity. I read it like I feel it. With or without an accent, and I can affect so many different accents too... I've known and worked with people from all over the world for so long and have always been delighted to hear them communicate their thoughts and feelings with their accented English. It's said that imitation is a sincere form of flattery and for me that's very true, and like many skills in Life, some accents I do better than others to be sure, but I give them all my best effort. If it entertains and brings smiles and laughter then that makes me happy. You see, it's not enough for me to be able to speak with a certain accent. I like to speak that accent with emotion and experience behind it.
Having performed on stage taught me to search my own life experience very quickly to find the character and voice for a specific role, and I have Lived. I've skydived, been on wilderness expeditions, rock climbed and rappelled and zip lined across canyons, taught children and adults sports and professional trades, written short stories, taught myself to play guitar, traveled all over the world and seen numerous sights and cultures, investigated the paranormal, been on archaeological digs, done parkour, done martial arts, done jazz dance... And so on, and so on...
I bring this zeal and meticulous attention to detail when I record your voice over for you. Whether it be fictional characters in a video game to a cogent, professional commercial enterprise I read your script through carefully, investigate your product, and find the right voice and tone to reach your audience.
This background in Literature, Social Science, and Dramatic presentation coupled with my own unique Life experience provides a wonderful base from which I can draw upon any character, any Voice for your audience.
Because I have a passion for challenging myself to produce the best performance I want to bring my studio, skills, and service to bear and Give Your Project a Voice!
I look forward to working with you soon!
My microphone (Rode NT-1 with Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Generation audio interface) is surrounded on all sides, behind, under, over, and around with 12 moving blankets inside my guest bedroom, the quietest room in my house. Six of the blankets are draped over three room dividers that surround my recording station. It makes for a very tight, sound controlled, noise floor reducing little closet that I use as my recording studio.
I use Audacity software on a Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptop to record onto and edit my recordings.
All of this allows for maximum noise reduction in my already quiet house (my kids are grown and gone) as well as for maximum portability. I can take it all down and set it up anywhere I have wi-fi access...
I've managed other businesses and departments in my lifetime and I completely understand the importance of professionalism in the performance of my duties. I'm running my own voice over business and that means I maintain a High degree of responsibility in managing it. You'll find I answer emails and phone calls very quickly and work to turn around your project in a timely fashion. I discipline myself to do nothing less than my best work.
