Cartoon Characters, horror SFX, clean voice overs
I am twenty-two years old and my natural speaking voice is toward the low end of the register without being in the bass range of sound. I can modify my natural tone to become deeper and more serious for narrations or jovial and higher-pitched for quick commercials on TV or the radio. I have lived in the midwest my entire life, so I have a very flat, even voice without an accent.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Accents and Dialects, many are stereotyped but most can sound authentic:
American Southern (Texan, Georgian, Missippian)
American Northern (Minnesotan, North Dakotan)
American Eastern (Boston, NY)
English (Cockney, London)
Characters - These range from serious to humorous to bizarre:
Young boy or girl, more of cartoon variety than serious/authentic
Adolescent male or female, can be serious or humorous with male voice, mostly humorous with female voice.
Adult male or female, mostly humorous
Elderly male or female, humorous or serious
Other - These include unclean vocal sounds such as growls, grunts, and squeals that could be used for monsters, aliens, or zombies in video games, TV shows, or movies.
Extra low voice drop, the same effect that is created by pitch shifting a normal voice to make it sound extremely low. Similar to devil or Satan characters in cartoons.
Low growl or grunt, modified from death metal growls and grunts to create monster sounds.
Gurgles, by manipulating the saliva and phlegm in my throat I can produce a variety of horror movie-themed sound effects.
High pitched growls and grunts, these are the higher version of the dirty, distorted, low grunts and growls listed above. Similar to the voices of orcs or goblins in science fiction and fantasy works.
Cartoon Voices - these are voices that are more humorous and less realistic
Meatwad & Gollum/Smeagol, there is a certain range of voices that can be created by shutting off a certain part of the throat to create a nasally voice. This technique can be seen in Aqua Teen Hunger Force's Meatwad, The Lord of the Rings' Gollum, Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, or Futurama's Nibbler.
My Voice Experience
I have been playing with my voice for most of my life in terms of imitating cartoon or movie characters, but only seriously began conditioning when I started playing music. I am a vocalist for a few metal bands and this is going on the third year that I have been playing shows and working consistently. As a result of this very specific type of experience, my expertise right now falls into the category of voice work that could be used in horror, science fiction, or fantasy productions. However, I can still perform a variety of clean voices, accents, and dialects.

My degree program focused on the use of language and how it can be used to create different forms of expression, so I am very familiar with the creative process and the development of ideas. I spent a great deal of time in writing workshops and other groups where the exchange of ideas and skills was fostered, and these skills would translate well to working on projects in the voice over field.
