Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Excellent newscaster and reporter impersonations (both straight and exagerated), very good doing people of authority (military officer, police officer, executive, etc.), down-east Maine impersonation, upper-class British accent impersonation (learned as a child from my late grandmother, who was a native), English Cockney, accents for fairy tales and children's stories
My Voice Experience
I started as a reporter, newscaster and general radio announcer in 1987, doing both live and recorded newscasts, news packages, live reports from the field, and news and documentary editing and production in the studio. I have won awards for both my news production and documentary production work, as well as for journalism. My general announcing work included voice over work for commercials, studio announcing and regular, on-air DJ work. This continued (including several promotions) at various radio stations through 2005. Since then I have done full-time copywriting and public relations work, includuing occaisional live radio appearances.
Countless late nights, early mornings, seven-day weeks and years in the studio making mistakes and then figuring out what sounded great. Today I'm a great poker player, after years of losing.
My Studio Equipment
MP3 compatable (or higher)
For several years I taught public speaking to young people as a volunteer for Optimist International. In various positions for various organizations I literally cannot count the number of times I have told a story to a live audience of children and/or adults, sometimes in costume. I've always done the whole story myself, sometimes from memory, sometimes written by me. I do all the characters myself, including their voices.
