Dinah Lammiman

clear, sophisticated and warm

Voice Description

Clients have described my voice as silky, sophisticated, clear and warm. But I'm also very versatile - I'm currently the voice of the Build-A-Bear Workshop commercials on UK TV.
I have a neutral British accent but I can take on characters as needed. I can provide upbeat voiceovers for commercials, classy delivery for business presentations, a clear, direct style for documentaries and warm, soothing tones if that's what the project needs. My voice is also well suited to moving, emotional texts - as you can hear on my voicereel.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I'm very comfortable with a range of regional British accents - including Northern, Cockney (London English) and West Country. Also - so far - I've impersonated Mrs Thatcher and Charlize Theron in Snow White and the seven huntsmen for voiceover clients.

My Voice Experience

I have a huge amount of experience. For many years I was on staff at the BBC, producing and presenting for TV and Radio. Since becoming freelance I've voiced all sorts of projects - for clients including the National Trust, Build-a-Bear workshop, World Vision and BBC World Service. I really enjoy voiceover work and relish a wide range of projects. Recent work has included charity campaign videos, children's audio books, voiceovers for technical manuals, automated answering messages and movie spoofs.
One of the great things about this work is the huge variety of clients you get to work with - from all over the world. I have several repeat clients who I really enjoy working with.
Mostly I work from my home professional studio, using a variety of mics and editing my material on Pro Tools or Final Cut Pro (if I'm working with video). I can provide aiff, wav or mp3 but I can generally work with most file formats. I am an accomplished musician and have featured as a singer on one broadcast programme.
I also have portable recording equipment and binaural mics - so if there's something out of the ordinary you're looking forward I may well be able to help.
My standards are extremely professional and I'm used to working to tight deadlines and understanding clients' requirements. I also have a huge sound effects library so I can add effects to your project as required.
If you have any questions please do get in touch.

My Training

My training has mostly been on the job - first as a broadcast journalist with the BBC - and more recently recording projects for my wide variety of clients.
Whilst at the BBC I completed numerous courses in editing, presenting, communications and journalism. All of these have been put into practice and built on, over my many years of working in audio and TV.
I'm a highly proficient sound editor, having produced hundreds of radio programmes over the years.
My standards are high - as you would expect - and my work as extremely professional.

My Studio Equipment

I work with a Macbook Pro, a variety of Microphones (depending on the client's requirements) and I usually edit using Pro Tools.
I often send files using an fttp site, like Hightail and more recently I've shared files with clients using dropbox.
I always record wav files and then convert them to whatever format is needed. In this way I can achieve the highest technical quality possible.

Additional Skills

My sound effects library is extensive and I'm very experienced in using sound effects effectively. I'm an experienced sound editor. As a broadcast journalist I developed extensive experience in script writing, script editing, radio production, TV production and presentation, all of which I put to use in my voiceover work.
