Dawn Ford Bio 2008
For more than 20 years, from playing the hard hitting waitress with Alan Alda in The Killing Yard to the heart breaking Jewish artist fleeing Nazi occupied France opposite Julia Ormand in Varian’s War, Dawn continues to impress critics and media alike with her depth, range and likability.
Dawn has consistently captured attention from and worked with such director’s as Academy Award- winning Denys Arcand (Stardom, Joyeux Calvaire), Gemini Award-winning Christian Duguay (Human Trafficking), Emmy Award-winning Pierre Gang (Further Tales of the City), Richard Freidenberg (Education of Little Tree) and Pavla Ustinov (Hotel de L’Avenir), to name only a few.
With expansive versatility, Dawn can also be seen on television playing a very magical “Puck” in Shakespeare, Words and Music and several diverse characters on Gemini Award-nominated The Tournament, L’Auberge de Chien Noir, Fries With That, Prank Patrol and The Neverending Story. She is the unmistakable gravelly voice of the much loved character “Iggy Inch” in the animation series Little Lulu as well as the distinctive lead voices in several hit series: Toad Patrol, Animal Crackers, Mona the Vampire and the Emmy Award-winning Arthur.
Dawn’s commitment to excellence is reflected in her on going study with world-renowned acting coaches: Warren Robertson (The Actor’s Studio), John Strasberg, Benson Simmonds (Ivanna Chubbuck) Adriano Lurissevich (Commedia Dell’Arte Venezia), among others.
She has garnered much critical acclaim as a celebrated performer in every project she undertakes and continues to be a dedicated and unlimited creative force that must be seen!
