My Voice Experience
I have over five years broadcasting experience spending most of the time on-air. I started working for a college station doing alternative rock mornings and then transistioning into jazz music for the afternoons. I later interned at top rated news station 1080 KRLD writing copy and got my several of my stories on the air and even voiced a couple that got aired. My next two jobs were in Christian broadcasting. First for a non-com Christian station 90.9 KCBI. I did mainly board-op work, but filled in doing on-air work. I also served as a voice-tracker for our sister affiliate station 91.5 KSYE in Lawton, Wichita Falls. I am currently working for 94.9 KLTY...the #1 Christian station in America. (Yeah! baby). I'm mainly on-air during the weekends and also work late evenings and the 5am host for the Family Friendly Morning Show. In addition to voice over work, I'm also the production director for my church's radio ministry the Faith Factor which will make its debut on 91.7 KVTT, the first weekend in March.
I'm proud to say that I'm a Texan and have proudly served in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
I have received awesome training through the wonderful talent of the staff at UTA. I've been able to put my talents to use at the college radio station serving as on-air, public affairs director, and news director. I have a B.A. in Broadcast Communications from UTA.
Being in radio, especially in a nice market at Dallas/Fort Worth, I've been helped by wonderful mentors such as Bernie McPartland, Ken Barnett, and Ron Taylor. They've helped give me great advice to help me perfect my inflection, tone, energy, quality, and helped me to find ways of conveying points by putting more into less words.
I also have bi-weekly aircheck sessions with my boss, the PD and national brand manager of Salem Fish stations, Chuck Finney. He helped me round off the sharp points that refine my sound.
My Studio Equipment
I have a studio mic with a compressor and a four track recorder as well as production editing software to upload mp3s on the fly.
In additional to doing straight on-air and voice over work, I also work in video production. I participated in a video shoot with my friend Andrew for a couple of TCU football games involving Pink-Out for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. We interviewed players, Miss Texas, and Coach Patterson. Andrew put the package together and I did the voice over for it and it was featured at the next TCU Pink-Out football game.
