Christopher Smoot

News caster, sensative guy, red neck,

Voice Description

I am a blues singer and salesman. I have been practicing voices for years. I have done corporate work for PowerPoint and video narratives. I have a very flexible range. I can sound sensitive or authoritative, news-like, redneck, sometimes British. I am not limited to that. If I am given a profile to imitate I will obsess until it is right.

My dream is to find someone who is involved in creative animation.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Tom Brokaw, Hank Hill, Mrs. Garrison-South Park, Mike Jackson, Robin Leech, Patrick Stewart, military SGT, infomercial guy, Grandpa- The Simpsons, sing like Bill withers or James Taylor. I don't feel limited. My family and friends have pushed me for years to get involved. I just finished doing a 60 segment phone answering service for a print shop. In general, it seems to find me on a local level. I would love to be involved in something creative.

Give me a task and I can make it happen.

My Voice Experience

Out of high school I received a full scholarship for voice to a private college.

I have done commercials for county fairs, sang in a blues band, recorded telephone answering services for 3 company, and done narratives for corporate videos.

I didn't keep track of most of it. I never intended on doing anything with the skill. I plan on leaving enough demos here to create interest.

My Training

I sang in Latin for 2 years to get a voice scholarship. It was awful.

I have worked as a direct salesman for almost 20 years.

Gave a number of classes while in military and spoke at motivational conventions.

Took Public speaking, 6 years of choir, 2 years of drama, and worked as a phone solicitor for 6 years.

I currently use Adobe Audition, Flash, and Premiere.

My Studio Equipment

I am taking a digital media curriculum. Tell me what you need. There is no sense in listing irrelevant assets. Yes, I am extremely digitally savvy. I certified in Video and Audio Forensics 3 years ago.

Additional Skills

It is difficult to imitate what you are not exposed to. So let me tell you a little about where I have been.

I was a US Army Ranger

I have been in direct sales

I sang in front of large groups in a Blues Band

I have done phone soliciting

I even spoke at a Josh McDowell 10,000 person Christian meet 20 years ago.

I did a few commercials for Music Festivals and Fairs

Two years ago I did a commercial for a gun show

I was "most wittiest" in High School and I still love to be creative.

I can call any of my closest friends and they will never know that it is me

I have been to Thailand, Japan, Canada, lived in California, Florida, North Carolina, and I love to watch people. I absorb their signature and it is a pleasure.
