Although they can be longer, they\u2019re likely to venture into the territory of <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/explainer-videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">explainer<\/a> rather than promo because they have to include more content to meet the extended duration requirement.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While promo scripts and commercial scripts are similar, there are also marked differences. Commercials\/advertisements tend to follow the \u2018<a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/voice123.com\/blog\/voice123\/commercial-scriptwriting\/\" target=\"_blank\">state it; explain it; repeat it<\/a>\u2019 structure. Furthermore, they\u2019re usually focused on making a sale of some kind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Promotional scripts don\u2019t have to make a sale &#8212; although a call to action is required (more on that later). In terms of tone and style, promotional scripts are generally less hyped than commercial scripts.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the biggest issue many writers have when putting a promotional script together is how to make the content engaging. Persuasive elements are often missing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, by understanding that the core of what you\u2019re doing remains <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/voice123.com\/blog\/voice123\/10-tips-for-writing-a-great-voice-over-script\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">storytelling<\/a>, a less than stellar topic need not present you with an insurmountable challenge.&nbsp;Great storytelling always gets attention. While exclamation-fuelled enthusiasm might work for youngsters, you\u2019d have to approach older folk more gently and with due consideration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Know your purpose and your platform. <\/strong>What are you promoting? A business? A product? A service? An event? A course? The approach to each of these would be different.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emphasize entertainment rather than mere facts.<\/strong> We\u2019re in the age of <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/article\/235088\" target=\"_blank\">instant gratification<\/a>. Just like it\u2019s good to know your audience, it\u2019s good to know what your audience does for fun, what makes them laugh, or what matters to them so you can adjust your writing to accommodate these. By tickling their fancy with your script, they\u2019re likely to keep reading, listening, and watching. They\u2019ll also remember what you\u2019re promoting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give your <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dictionary.cambridge.org\/us\/dictionary\/english\/omniscient-narrator\" target=\"_blank\">omniscient narrator<\/a> a personality.<\/strong> If you write the script as someone who is just spewing out fact after fact, you\u2019ll drench your script in the most dreadful dreariness. Don\u2019t do it. Rather try imagining yourself as a member of your target audience and you\u2019re listening to someone <em>you<\/em> really trust. Just ensure you don\u2019t end up coming across as patronizing. If your audience reckons you\u2019re an imposter who&#8217;s trying too hard, you\u2019ll be dead in the water faster than you can blink. Keep your tone conversational, relatable, and real.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Include a <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/voice123.com\/blog\/voice123\/why-the-key-to-getting-a-great-voice-over-is-knowing-what-you-want\/\" target=\"_blank\">call-to-action<\/a>. <\/strong>Notwithstanding your purpose, you\u2019ll want your audience to perform some kind of action at the end \u2014 whether it\u2019s a download, a subscription, a purchase, etc. Offer them something useful or meaningful as a takeaway.
