Even though I have not had any professional voice over jobs I have performed in several plays that required real talent. One of my favorite Tennesse William plays is "Dark Of The Moon" where I played the mid-wife and I had to changed my voice to sound like I came from the Smokey Mountains of Tennesee. I loved the change it help me to show my drama teacher and the school my true talents. Not to mention an all star cast. I won best supporting actress. That was a great honor. I also played in my college play where I played three different characters were I had to change from my normal speaking voice, to a deep southern voice, and to a male speaking voice. That was challenging and exciting all together.
I have attended a few workshops but my real training came from wonderful drama and speech teachers and coaches from elementary to college . Who saw a raw talent in me and cared enough to share their knowledge and professionalism to see me achieve my goals.
I am talented in different areas of the fine arts. I am a writer, counselor, and care giver. I have written some of the most beautiful poems general and inspritional. One of my favorite that I would like to see turned into a song is called, "Butterfly"High the sky I see colors.
He spreads his wings and
they flutter beautiful by
sight he makes his flight
when the butterfly lands his
wings will still fan. He's
gentle by touch so be
careful he can slip out your
fingers and parts of him
may linger. Injuired by a
hand his wings will still
fan. Fly away little
butterfly and I will see you
another day.
This poem is special for me because I won the Editor's Choice award for this touching heart felt poem. It has been published in several other poetry books. I feel that these two talents together writing and voice over work go great together. Being a creator and deliver of a product at the same time can be very rewarding.
