Several years of large market radio experience, including on-air and commercial writing, production and voicing. Was also responsible for live emcee appearances for local and regional clients, as well as host for many local and regional festivals. Off-camera cable spots for Charter Communications.
Prior to my radio experience, I toured for four years as a singer with a jazz combo - singing the songs of the great torch singers and big band vocalists of the 30's, 40's & 50's and a few new jazz favorites. (ie., Ella Fitgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee, Patti Page, Kaye Starr, Sinatra, Diane Schuur, Natalie Cole, Diana Krall).
BS Sound Engineering - Appalachian State University - Boone, NC (1996)
Following a brief stint in Boston, MA - I became News Director for a large market station in the Southeastern United States on a walk-in audition with no experience. My GM was a radio veteran who turned out to be a fabulous mentor. In addition to delivering the news and co-hosting the AM drive, I maintained a heavy production load including writing, voicing & producing everything from commercials and PSA's to station and regional event promos.
Aside from that, I also have over 20 years of musical training and performance experience. The last 14 of which have been spent as a professional musician along the eastern seaboard of the United States.
I am currently a frontperson/singer/trumpeter for the US Navy Showband in Newport, RI., but my heart is in the voiceover world.
