My Voice Experience

In New York City. For Ogilvy & Mather, I parodied an executive. I was cast for this role without audition because the casting director knew I could play clipped and business-like.

In 2003, I played five characters in the story, Anthropology of Turquoise, for Synecdoche, directed by Mark Damen, broadcast in Salt Lake City on Utah Public Radio.

Conductor Sergio Bernal and I, as director, discussed our collaboration on Stravinsky's A Soldier's Tale and Eight Songs for a Mad King in Logan, Utah in 2004.

In 2005, I played Welsh and Polish characters for Talking Wales: The Pole with the Utah Contemporary Theater, which was broadcast in Salt Lake City.

For the documentary, The Making of Crazy Horse, in 2010, I interviewed composer Eric Starr about the Sioux Indians, the Ghost Dance, and the Battle of Little Big Horn.

For Rachel Grissom's Somnambulist, an official New Orleans Film Festival entry in 2012, I dubbed the yoga instructor's voice. People say that I have a soothing and calming voice.

In 2012, I played character women in It’s a Wonderful Life, directed by Stephen James, which was broadcast on WWNO in New Orleans.

Additional Skills

I coach dialects in stage productions.

I teach voice and speech classes from a descriptive, rather than prescriptive, approach. I listen carefully to the sounds to learn about how sounds are produced. The Oral posture, that is, the shape of the vocal tract, and the actions of the articulators (lips, soft palate, and tongue) make the sound changes naturally.

I have two degrees in France and lived in France.

I have studied German for four years and Sanskrit for one year.

I speak French fluently and speak Italian proficiently.

As director of The Winter's Tale, I was interviewed about the production, which was broadcast on Croatian national TV in 2013.
