Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Accents: West Irish, Scottish, German (cartoonish, buffoonish, or "normal"), Swedish/Scandinavian, English, South United States, Midwestern United States, New England.
Characterizations: I have done voice over work as a Scotsman selling furniture, a leprechaun, I have portrayed Watson from Sherlock Holmes, I enjoy doing scary, or monster voices. My voice can be fun or cartoony (I've done an Elf Voice, without post production voice alterations).
My Voice Experience
I have always "done" voices. Whether I was imitating Popeye's humming on the street, voicing "Veggie Tales" characters for my church's Daily Vacation Bible School, or just trying to recreate a moment from a film I really enjoyed, I have always been voicing different characters, usually as an imitation, good or bad. I worked in radio as a Copywriter for three and a half years and was asked to voice occasional scripts that I or my fellow creative writiers had written. I also did some voice over work for one of our producers who owned his own commercial production studio.
My Training
I attended the Canadian School of Modern Broadcasting where I earned a Diploma in Radio Broadcast Arts. I was taught proper voice over techniques and voice strengthening excercises by former and current voice talent from the Edmonton area.
My Studio Equipment
I have a friend with his own equipment, but would prefer to come in to a studio.
