Voice Description
Smooth, articulate, good narrative voice. Upbeat, fun, sexy, happy for routine commercial parts. Can also do good hardsell (the typical excited "MIDWEST MOTORSPORTS MADNESS!!THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE ACTION TRACK!!BE THERE!!!" type delivery)
Businesslike/professional, intellectual for presentations.
Can sound almost evangelistic for motivational speaking.
Can also do old man voice, crotchety old man voice, hillbilly voice, great Santa Claus voice (very jolly), very gay effeminate, deep reverberating Star Wars-type evil alien voice and eastern Indian accent.

My Voice Experience
Started in radio as a dj in 1972. Did some behind-the-scenes and on-air tv work during the same period until I realized that I only had a face for radio so the tv thing went by the wayside (I just wasn't into make-up). Always showed natural ability to produce commercials, promos, public service announcements and stuff. Have done voice over work for Car Depot, Cadillac, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Chrysler/Dodge and Ford dealerships, Harley-Davidson, USAC Motorsports, American Thunder Motorcycles, American Family Insurance, Race For The Cure, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes WalkAmerica, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Glenn Miller Orchestra, John Mellencamp, Quiet Riot, Gallagher (the smash-o-matic comedian), Indiana State University Summerstage, Stans Nautilus, Pro Plan Pet Food, as well as countless voiceover jobs for local restaurants, coffee shops, bridal shops, tattoo parlors, Christian bookstores, heating and cooling businesses, construction and excavating companies, nursing homes, realtors and brokers, and many more too numerous to remember.
I spent a year as Training Coordinator for Hercules Corporation which involved developing and implementing a new employee training program for a new $100 million expansion project. That program included producing video, audio and print text for new employee orientation and delivered through classroom and on-the-job training. Following that I was chosen to be one of three Team Concept Management trainers for the Hercules film division, receiving my training certificate from Productivity Development Institute in Clearwater Beach Florida. I then taught dozens of Team Concept Management classes for salary and hourly employees in off-plant settings for groups of 30-40 employees at a time.
My Training
I attended Indiana State University through my junior year majoring in Radio/TV and minoring in Journalism. While attending ISU I took basic and advanced radio and tv production, voice and diction and speech classes.
I have six years experience playing trombone in marching band, jazz band and symphony orchestra and eight years experience in keyboard (organ)training.
During my last two years in high school I was the weekly "presider" (I assisted the pastor) at our United Methodist church during every Sunday service. I was the guy who stood at the pulpit and led hymns, made church announcements, gave the weekly scripture reading and led the weekly benediction, all because the congregation (average attendance was 150 people)"loved my voice".

Additional Skills
I have always been naturally strong at "details"; I love messing with knobs and buttons. That's why I love doing radio, radio production and voice over work. The production software I use is Cool Edit Pro which gives me a complete range of production and processing capability. I also love to take a project from a concept on a piece of paper to completion. Speaking has always come naturally to me whether in front of a mic or in front of a crowd of people. My biggest fantasy is to deliver a speech in front of a stadium full of people. Weird, huh? I'm not perfect and I'm certainly not the best voice that ever lived, but I love to have fun at whatever I'm doing and I think that shows in the enthusiasm I display in the voice over work I do.
