Voice Description

Having been in radio for 25 years on various formats, I have developed a very eclectic delivery, being able to conform to almost any need. I prefer a warm but powerful delivery, but can "yuck it up" with the best of them! My delivery is precise and without noticeable accent (unless desired!). Having recorded thousands of radio and television spots in my life, I can read a tremendous amount of copy in a short time without sounding rushed. While I specialize in narration, I enjoy character scripts and welcome any challenge!

My Voice Experience

25 years of professional, commercial radio experience in Connecticut. Most recently I was the morning announcer at WKNL (KOOL 101) in New London. I have worked afternoons (and was number one in the New London County market) on WCTY, was the morning man on WTYD, and began all of this on WICH, 1310 AM in Norwich. I was the voice of New England Pontiac dealers some years ago through Hopkins Advertising. I was also the voice of a local (but now defunct) professional arena football team. I've also done television spots for CT River Cruises, and most recently for Kia of Somersworth, NH, though Digital Video and Consulting of Boston, MA. I've even recorded the audio portion of an English As a Second Language course in California.

My Training

On the job experience is best, and I have a lot of it, having begun in professional radio at age 16. I retired from full time radio work five years ago at age 41. I'm getting the itch again, and have always loved doing VOs. I was a media major at Manchester Community College about a million years ago. I have since acquired a Masters in Counseling Psychology, which is utterly useless in this business. It's even useless in psychology.

My Studio Equipment

I use an EV RE20 mic (and would never ask you to settle for anything less), with a Behringer Tube Ultragain MIC200 preamp, and a Behringer Eurorack MX 602A mixer into my iMac and Logic Pro 9 software.

Additional Skills

I'm 46 years old and have been doing voicework for the vast majority of my life. I love a challenge and can adapt to nearly anything you may need. Just ask. I'm easy to work with and take direction well, as I believe you probably already have something specific in mind. Give me a chance to deliver it to you!
