Voice Description
The sound and attitude when something distinctively new, in sound and approach, to be truly differentiating is required.
Run the gambit from the highly educated to the stick, from characterized for humorous interviews to soothing, deep reassuring styles like Nova and Frontline-type narratives. Can project a crazy edge, insane enthusiasm, deadpan droll or smooth reassurance, the unsettled to the demonic, from the cursed and sarcastic to the naive, playful and reassuring.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
A singular range for nuance and character affectation from hayseed stupid to rocket science intellect. I can project the intelligence behind the voice or the hollow, echo chamber of ignorance and the myopic menacing of the zealot.
Any accent or dialect -from French guttural to southern nasal. I do not do impersonations because my singular voice range and characteristics lend themselves more to endless unique combinations and sounds than to mimicry. My voice and performance personality have been best suited for film animation VO.
My Voice Experience
16 observation humor albums, have master recorded individual and families' voices for posterity, and consulted on film and theatre dialogue and development projects for decades. I also develop and record radio content and concepts.
From left field, a whack on both sides of the head, the singularly creative and technical cross-over, the guru-level creative integrator, the driven-production-minded detail-oriented collaborator who can assist with copy, dialogue and approach, the one with an endless flow of new opportunities and insights.
Thrive on both sides of the mic.
For the producer who is self-confident, energetic and forward thinking, a surprising, resource and wealth of creative insight and delivery -whose experience and applicable talents are clearly unlike those of anyone else.
My Training
I began my exposure to the wonders of recording and voice back in college, where, along with architecture, environmental design and biology, I took theatre, creative filmmaking and literature classes. I also taught creative filmmaking and photography. I was working on film animation projects, when I became particularly interested in the ability to capture high quality voice and dialogue and in how that was manipulated in the A & B roll film editing process at the time. Later, through film projects, I was exposed to many of the recording and video studios around, and while consulting on an animated concept, I was introduced to the nuances of clarity and warmth that the older, tube amp/recording systems offered. I also began recording voices and dialogue tests for theater. At the time I was doing forensic and ballistic work on electron microscopes, and I eventually started clarification of audio evidence for police jurisdictions court cases.
Decades ago, I began recording and archiving peoples stories, voices and personal observations, and I am still deeply immersed in that work.
Over the years, I have had a variety of recording mentors, and I am always looking for more so I can continue to learn. It is a life-long process. For instance; when I was a technical director at the Walt Disney Company, I had some wonderful audio engineers that responded to my interests and who wanted to take the quality of audio and the projects to a higher level. At the time, they were heavily into special binaural recording and reproduction. I have always learned from and responded to that type of integrity, attention to improving detail and attitude for capturing the voice and environmental sounds. To this day, I continue to record and archive individual and family voices in the highest quality possible.
My Studio Equipment
Multiple Steinberg and Presonus systems with analogue and digital mixing/effects and a full range of dynamics. Many applications of voice capture benefit from the initial warmth and intuitive qualities of analogue systems and the control of the digital systems.
Potable and non-portable solutions to record anywhere in the world, specializing in capturing voice, and dialog.
Additional Skills
Taking your insights for the product, service, circumstance or character context and translating them into voice and dialog.
To enhance and color the process, with professional experience, insight and recognized credibility in an unusually broad arc of industries and disciplines, all of which give perspective, insight and material to draw upon for communications and voice/character development.
Those professional experiences range from interactive entertainment to architecture, from R&D to fine art, from product/services development to science and technology, from forensics and ballistics to communications, from public relations to political relations, from the public to the private and non-profit sectors, from publication to theatre, from film development projects to master planning, from theme park design to creative and technical writing, from dialogue development to strategic script analysis, from voice recording to observation humor performance, from the boardroom to the field, from the studio to location.
