Voice Description
I have been doing about 43 voices - tiny cartoon to epic and biblical proportions - since 1955 when I nailed Donald and Mickey for Gramma. My mimic and character voices are fun, but I am more into longer recordings (books-on-tape) now. Impeccable cold readings from years of reading aloud the news, hosting morning drive radio and call-in programs (AM and FM) and quickly producing 30 and 60 second spots and spec. So, I am most comfortable in my dulcet, mellow, baritone storytelling voices.

My Voice Experience
See above. My cousin, Scott Almdale boarded at the incredible Central Institute for the Deaf where I was raised in Saint Louis, MO. From 'Day One" I had to have perfect enunciation and expressive facial features, as Scotty learned only to LIPREAD at that radical school. Too, under Mort Crowley and Steven B. Stevens on KXOK AM630 radio, I honed the craft of announcing, and was the blessed "Book Voice" in our High school musical: "How to Succeed in Business...."Since 1955, I have been involved with a mike one way or another, from reading aloud my own short stories to fellow fifth graders in Mrs. Lewis' class to recording strange adventures on a C-battery-powered reel-to-reel to hosting weekend, underground hippy music feasts in 1969-70 at Northwestern University to recording lengthy, unabridged theological tomes by men long dead for a gospel ministry. My gift is cold reading; I am able to 'pre-see' the work at hand and flawlessly enunciate and emote.
