Voice Description

My voice is naturally deep and soothing, perfect for industrials and presentations. I am good at getting points across simply without sounding like I'm scripted. I also specialize in characters, particularly characters with booming voices. I excel at voice caricatures. I can usually pick out what is funny or unique about a particular voice and accentuate or amplify it. I would love to use my voiceover talents for a cartoon or video game. I have a knack for that kind of acting.

My Voice Experience

I have worked for two children's theatre companies as part of the regular cast: The Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre and Storybook Musical Theatre. Some of their productions include Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Jack and the Beanstalk, and an original story called Knightly Knews. For some of these productions I would be asked to play several different characters and establish an original, unique voice for each. I also recorded vocals for an omnipotent, God-like character in an original stage play titled "A Game of Life."

My Training

I graduated from DeSales University with a BA in Theatre (Acting/ Directing). I took many courses in acting and some specifically geared towards voice acting and voiceover acting including "Training the Speaking Voice" and a Master Class taught by Leigh Smiley, a certified Linklater teacher. During my studies, along with regular appearances in main stage productions, I've been asked to participate in several voice over jobs including recorded sounds and voices for live stage productions, radio drama projects, and an animated short film. Recently, I trained with Jeannie Stith, a respected Philadelphia based voice over artist, to refine my skills.

I used to perform voices for my girlfriend: speak with a funny accent, put on a weird nasal quality, develop a voice into a routine, etc. When she would get fed up, she would tell me that if I didn't turn this into a career, she would kill me. As I became more conscious of my voice and what I was doing with it. I discovered that I can't watch television without trying to imitate or caricature what I hear. I think that it has become a valuable tool in developing fresh voices.
