Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
As I have no formal (paid) experience, I'm a hair uncertain if I can pull these off convincingly, but Australian (Auzzie), various forms of British (Brit/English), Scottish, Irish, Southern USA, Hick, Surfer (SoCal), and upper-Midwest North Dakotan, etc.
My Voice Experience
My previous experience is quite limited. Friends have said I should look into it, since I'm 'a character.' I also have extensive musical background and a simple knack for characterizations. I've had roughly 6 opportunities in theater, several of which featured an accent for the character.
A class I took in college is listed below.
My Training
I took a class as part of my communications bachelors program in radio and voiceover production. It covered the history of Radio, and we produced several clips covering advertisement, and ticket sales.
I've also had several classes in public speaking, and taught a class last fall on public speaking.
I've performed in higher level choral groups for the last several years, and now work in upper administration for a school on musical leadership in the church. It's my professional field.
My Studio Equipment
I have easy access to several integral pieces of equipment that afford me simple audio production and adequate edits.
MacBook
2 Ghz Processor
1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Mac OS X ver 10.5.5
Digidesign MBOX (2 inputs, gain controls on box for each)
MXL 990 Condenser Microphone with shock-mount and windscreen.
Garage Band, Cool Edit 1.5 and Audacity.
Additional Skills
I'm 25 years old, and have my Bachelors in Worship Arts from ORU in Tulsa, OK. It was a degree largely based in musical production - be it theatrical or otherwise. I feel my vocal abilities and sensitivities make me especially adept at a wide range of characterizations, and that I have the ear to tweak my deliveries in minute ways based on the needs of a client.
