I am very new to this area and performed in my very first film in February this year. I played the wife of an alzheimer sufferer in the last stages of the disease. It was challenging and rewarding and I learned a lot. The film 'Remembering Yesterday', will soon be available to see in my profile on Starnow.co.uk
Apart from my demos I have no experience in the voiceover market as such. However I have spent most of my working life as a music teacher in a secondary school, where I ran musical shows, choirs, an orchestra and taught music for the Junior and Leaving cert. I used my singing voice (which is classically trained) and speaking voice a great deal as part of this work, and this experience has given me the ability to project and express myself through my voice.
I have enjoyed making my demos and hope that my voice can be of service.
My main training is in music education and performance. I have a primary degree in music education and a diploma in singing teaching. In 1976 I won the Mezzo Soprano gold medal in the Dublin Feis Ceoil
As a teenager I studied drama at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. I successfully did drama exams and competitions at that time.
Since I retired from my Secondary teaching job in 2012, I have decided to explore new experiences in drama and voiceover work.
My demos were made using an Olympus Linear PCM recorder LS-11 at home.
I downloaded the files to my computer and used NCH Wavepad Sound Editor to convert them to MP3 and tidy them up.
