My Voice Experience

I've been narrating documentaries for eons. Trained with CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) current affairs.

Worked in Edmonton, Alberta; Toronto, Ontario and for many years hosted the regional current affairs show Pacific Report, on CBC Vancouver.

Now I have my own video production company, it's about us productions. I produce documentaries for organizations and companies. I write my own scripts and edit my own films. I have an edit suite where I record narration.

My Training

I graduated from the Radio and Television Arts program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. As an adult, studied at University of BC and received Master of Art in Political Science.

Hands on training in media production and journalism came
through many years working with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in television current affairs.

My Studio Equipment

Audio Technica shotgun mic.

Record through audio interface (Pre-Sonus Inspire 1394)to Soundtrack Pro (part of Final Cut Pro Studio 2 suite. Output as aif file and convert to MP3 using either Sorenson Squeeze or iTunes. Can upload to MobileMe for download.

I compute on an iMac quad core and/or Macbook Pro.

Additional Skills

Not sure there's anything else not included above. I think the advantage of using me is that I'm very experienced and I have my own set up so there's no need to book a studio. I'm frequently uploading movies for clients so uploading an audio file is not a problem. I have my own website should anyone want more information about me or see samples of my video work and hear my voice (on all except one clip at the site).

I produce, write, narrate, shoot, and edit. I'm looking to do voice over work to bring in another income source as part of my plan to shift to writing.

One other thing about me is that in between my earlier broadcast career and my current video production work, I went to school, got my Masters degree and then worked in research for several years. About five years ago now, I realized I missed the creativity and returned to production.
