Voice Description

My voice is fairly flexible, and very animated; I can present a full range of emotions and characterizations, and can range from 'smooth' to 'quirky'. I am more comfortable in my normal vocal range when speaking (baritone/bass), but have a multi-octave range and am fairly comfortable singing anywhere from tenor to bass. Unless there is a rather strange requirement, my voice would never be mistaken for 'feminine'; even in high school theatre, I tended to be cast as older men, since my vocal presence has always been more "mature".
I've had many people characterize my voice as sounding like a "late-night DJ", when in normal conversation; under standard conditions, my voice is calm, relaxing and evenly-modulated.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can do a "spot-on" Peter Lorre impression, sing a fairly good Barry White, do a decent job of emulating Thurl Ravenscroft ("Tony the Tiger"/the singing voice in the original, animated 'How the Grinch stole Christmas', and one of my heroes), and can perform any number of ethnic accents (it's impossible to name them all; I have a very good ear, and can pick up and mimic almost any accent, given a couple of listenings).
However, I'll try to provide a representative sample -

American - Bostonian, Brooklynese, Chicagoan, "Surfer",
generic 'Southern' (varies, depending upon
most recent conversation),
Cajun,
European - Canadian (closest to Toronto), Scottish,
French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German,
Other - Caribbean (Jamaican), Australian, Indian,

I can also imitate dogs, cats, pigs, goats/sheep,
frogs/toads, cows, horses, small rodents (mice,
chipmunks, guinea pigs), numerous insects, some
reptiles, and various birds.

My Voice Experience

I have absolutely no experience in voiceover. I won't
"sugarcoat" it; I'm a genuine novice, but eager to give
it a go.

My Training

I've performed in choral groups from grammar school
through high school, as well as singing in barbershop
quartets. I also was active in theater in high school (never a true "lead", but many supporting roles onstage).
I've graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting (in 1997), but I never did anything with the experience or training.

My Studio Equipment

No studio equipment or 'easy' access, but a large number
of friends in the music industry, so I have "indirect"
access (should I request it).
