Voice Description

Many of my friends would probably describe my voice as boring and monotone. That may be because they all bore me and I don't have the heart to tell them. Don't tell them I said that. Really, don't.

I can inject quite a bit of character and emotion into my voice when I feel compelled to. Whether in mocking someone, imitation an actor or a friend, I can sort of closely mimick their nuances in speaking.

As far as imitating real people, I believe I can do an "okay" version of Arnold Schwarzenegger. I haven't really benchmarked the range of words and sounds that I can do that with, but I have a good grasp of his voice.

Ray Romano is sort of easy to do. I can almost get that annoying whiny aspect he does when he's complaining to his TV wife. It takes a bit of a workup, but it's doable.

There are a few other people I suppose I can imitate... I can't really name them off the top of my head but if I hear them, I can quickly judge if I can mimick them or not. Most of the time I can, however. I mean I can't honestly tell you what I can and can't do, I have to be presented with a scenario to come up with a green or red light as far as my abilites are concerned.

The "Bronx Gangsta" voice is one of my favorites to do. You know that whole, "Shut your friggin' mouth, I'll can you in the rivuh", thing. That's fun and I think it doesn't sound too bad.

As much as I hate to admit it, I can impersonate a lispy homosexual man pretty well. Can even do the physical jestures to go along with the voice, but I never told you that. On the flip side, I can distort the gayness in the voice to sound like a snobbish Finnish art collector or something. I have nothing against anyone who lives in Finland... I just think of turtlenecks and expensive coffee when that country is mentioned. I hate coffee.

In terms of a speaking voice I think I can speak very clearly and intelligently. I know where to put the emphasis on certain words in a sentence and all that jazz.

Reading reassuringly, like trying to calm a panicked person or something is right up my alley. I guess along the lines of the recent commercials for Six Flags with the announcer who announces "It's play time!". Something like that.

I'm incredibly outgoing. I won't just blindly turn something down if it scares me at first, I will try it over and over until I feel I can't actually do it.

Throw anything at me, and I can adapt to it. I love change and dynamic environments. Anything that forces me to improvise or critically consider the situation is awesome.
