Voice Description

My natural voice is a baritone, I have clear diction, natural inflections, and transparent tonality. My clients consider me flexible, in that, I can do many dialects, both as cartoony over the top reads, and sincere realistic renditions. Various classes and coaching, one year at AMDA and two at U of M as a drama major have given me a grasp of vocabulary and English diction.
I utilize the Jerry Blunt books in conjunction with the phonetic alphabet to authenticate my dialects as necessary. Twenty years of mostly amateur theatre has gifted me with knowledge of playing the emotional state of a character in his given circumstances.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

My natural speaking voice has had the Montana idiosyncrasies purged from it by training at AMDA of Mid-Atlantic Speech.
Accents I can do include American southern, Brooklynese, Irish, Scots, Spanish, Mexican, Proper English, Cockney, Pirate, American Indian, Asian, Russian, Italian, Jewish, and French.
My Character voices range from evil to innocent, sincere to cartoony. Yadda, yadda, yadda...
Using the phonetic alphabet and the Blunt method I am able to learn new dialects as necessary and am willing to try impersonations.

My Voice Experience

Raising my children in Montana affords me luxuries money can't buy. I am a dedicated single father and plan to stay enjoy the outdoor life. In 1998 I found work in local radio as the Production Director at Central Montana Radio Network. My duties included copy writing and producing radio commercials, this is a skill I currently use for various businesses. In 2002 I was hired as an apprentice to Don Mo the voice of Direct Marketing at North Country Media Group. I still produce D.R. tags, in both Spanish and English, and commercials at Stray Moose Media Productions.

My Training

I have Twenty years of character acting experience. I took voice lessons throughout my high school years, and continued them in my time at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in N.Y.C.. For two non-consecutive years In Seattle I performed in stage plays, and an independent film. I also have had two years of voice and speech training at the University of Montana where I became familiar with the phonetic alphabet, hence was able to refine my approach to dialects.

My Studio Equipment

My home studio is a simple, yet effective, affair of a Soundblaster Extigy sound card and a computer. I use Adobe Audition for editing or effects and have been for seven years. It is my intention to improve my studio with funds from voice over work. If I need to, I also have access to two local studios for production.

Additional Skills

My resume reads like an adventure novel. I have worked as a High School teacher, bartender, Farmer, Writer, and Group Home Staff among many other jobs. I am perhaps at a slight financial advantage living in Montana, because of the low overhead of an insulated economy, I am able to accept work at a lower rate because I live, in a house that is paid for, where milk costs less than three dollars a gallon, and gas prices are about $1.50 less than the rest of the country.
