My primary experience in public speaking was as a Protestant Pastor for over twenty years. And so I understand very well what could be called the "religious" accents of various preachers. I actually enjoy "mocking" religious type phraseology, as when I do "Billy Bob Bobkins and the Church of the Prime Time." I have also worked as a college professor and understand the shape of a more cultured voice. In addition, I believe my voice has a nice timbre for a more silky, sex sound, like a late night radio talk show host having an intimate conversation with a caller. On a number of occasions my friends have commented that I have a striking voice, so that is why I am trying to see if there might be some work for me in voice over.
I have a BA degree in History from San Jose State University; a Masters of Divinity from Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, CA. Although I have done a great deal of public speaking, I have not studies voice over specifically.
I have a close friend who is a audio expert. I do not personally own any audio equipment.
Over my 58 years I have had a tremendous number of experiences. Not only was I a pastor for twenty years, I also served in the U.S. Army in such places as Vietnam and Germany. I was in Germany when the wall came down, which was a tremendous experience. I am very interested in politics and history and am currently working on a Master of Art in History. My interest are varied and I have traveled extensively in Europe and the United States.
