My Voice Experience

Although professionally new to the business, I am very familiar with applying my voice to various situations. I have done work in theatre. I have also DJ'd and acted as Emcee, demanding the attention of crowds upwards of 500 with confident, yet smooth announcements and directions. Gigging professionally with a Big Band, I would always be the one to announce each new tune and invite couples to dance, etc. In high school I read the announcements each morning over the PA system. Comments such as "You're so good at that" and "You should be a news anchor" were not uncommon.

While shopping near closing time of a grocery store, I overheard an argument between emplyees over who would make the "the store is closing" announcement to the remaining shoppers. I volunteered and much to the employees' amazement, I, with debonaire charm, took the microphone and said "Attention shoppers...". I got a kick out of it as did all witnesses.

It was in that moment that I realized I cannot let this talent go to waste. I thought to myself "there are people out there seaching for voices and they might want mine."
