My Voice Experience

I have a voice timbre that bellied my youthfulness, when as a 20 year-old Announcer on Nigeria's national radio station at the time, Radio Nigeria, Lagos, my colleagues at the bi-monthly presentation meeting unanimously agreed that I should be assigned newsreading chores due to the authoritativeness and clarity of my voice. I was a Newscaster in many capacities until I left the services of Radio Nigeria in 1994. Since the partial commercialization of broadcasting in Nigeria in 1986, I had developed strong clientelle in the voice over industry in Lagos and was a regular voice on radio/tv ads and a dependable translator and script developer for agencies and independent producers. My quitting my radio job of 15 years was also to enable me acquire needed skills in the fledging TV ad industry. One of the TV documentaries I scripted and voiced was a 1/2 hour feature on Nigeria, which was showed on large sreen at the state banquet in Abuja, Nigeria's capital city, for the visiting President Bill Clinton in 2000. For 7 years, 1995 to 2002, I was the anchor/co-producer of the weekly 1/2 hour TV news documentary on oil & gas, Petroleum Perspective, sponsored by the NNPC and broadcast on 21 TV stations nationwide.
At the height of my career in Nigeria in January 2002, I migrated to North America with my family. Now a citizen of the United States, I have accentuated my broadcsating skills with a 4 year BFA degree in Video, Audio/Animation Production with minors in Graphic Design & Web Mastering from the International Academy of Design and Technology, IADT, Chicago, 2006. I'm skilled in most video and audio editing as well as digital imaging softwares and effectively undertake television shooting, directing and production projects.
