Currently I do lots of local radio spots for Western Wyoming Community College, Rock Springs Honda Toyota, Bank of the West, and others. My voice is quite changeable.
In the mid-70s I lived in Sydney, Australia. I was cast in ads (voice-over) both using my Australian accent and as an American (which I was). Occasionally there would be a brief shot of me in an ad, because I was really cute - long blonde hair, very bright and brimming with confidence.
I earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree and before I started teaching, I raised two children and wrote magazine articles for Mothering, San Diego Birth Journal, Home Education Magazine, and others. In 1986 the family moved to Germany. I became close to several musicians there and also to a lot of computer programmers. The programmers used me to help edit translated articles (that were already translated from German to English) to be sure they made sense, and had me record instructional videos to go with software materials which they produced for various businesses. During this time I did live introductions and radio interviews of several big-name bands who came to Frankfurt, Germany, such as Alice Cooper, Santana, and others. During this phase of my life I also toured with a international theatrical group and my live stage acting experience includes gigs as Jan in Bedroom Farce (British accent), Mrs. Wallace in Beyond Therapy (wild and crazy and very funny), the nymphomaniac in Playing Doctor (outspoken, sexy, and jealous), a token white girl in Dream Girls (dancing in the chorus, singing "Cadillac Car"), Girl #3 in Is There Life After High School? (lots of singing), and the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella (sweet, nurturing voice). In the early 90s, I returned to the states and started teaching at public schools full time. I also taught ELL at the local college, a Catholic church, and a Catholic mission. Several times I recorded audiobooks in a Dallas studio, for the blind. I kept plenty busy. Now I am teaching reading at a public school in Wyoming, Local radio stations use me quite often for ads and public service announcements, because i am incredibly versatile. I will do a fantastic job at voice acting for you. I have recently finished an acting gig in the play Trepidation Nation for The Actor's Mission here in Rock Springs.
My background is in Education/Counseling, and I have both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. I have written freelance magazine articles for many educational and parenting magazines. As mentioned above, I started voice acting in ads on Australian television in the 60s. I could speak with an Australian accent and was very cute, and since I was an American I could also, of course, speak as an American. I did lots of voice over work on websites and for businesses in the computer industry in Frankfurt, Germany, in the late 80s and early 90s. During the time I also did lots of intros to big gigs, getting the crowds really whooped up. I also did a few radio spots on the Armed Forces Network radio station, nothing big, just a few ads here and there (scripted). I toured with a group that included American, British, and German actors doing live stage productions. I also did public service spots on AFN radio in Europe. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Wyoming where I specialized in reading instruction, and a Master's Degree in Education from Boston University, where I specialized in counseling theories and techniques including cross-cultural counseling.
Industry professionals in both visual and auditory arts know that MacIntosh enables digital productions of the highest quality. I have Garage Band on my MacIntosh and a usb microphone. I can input specials effects and bits of music, and have no problem helping with writing and editing, as I have professional experience as a freelance writer.
