I have been a singer since the age of 4. My voice has never been formally trained pass highschool. Back up singing for various blues artists. My voice over talents came from advice given from a friend. Answering telephones is waht started it all. Everyone wanted to meet this guy who answered the phones.

My Voice Experience

The mysterious voice I possess was born over a telephone conversation. I work in the special event industry and I answer the phones at tour firm when it gets crazy. Many of the sales teams clients would ask who's the gentleman answering the phone. For a long time people thought that our firm hired a professional voice over talent just to answer the phones. Needless to say, I never received that bump in pay. Along comes a client of my own from Detroit 2 months later. He playing asked me while we hagling over budgets for his corporate event; "Have you ever thought about doing commercials?" Still trying to keep my composure after being stiffed on a $1500 bill, I answered, "No, but we can split the cost on these roses..." Well, this turned into a long conversation and my first job using my voice other than sining. My client asked me to be an off-camera host of their event. So, I must say there is something about the voice that everyone enjoys.

My Training

My training is non-tradtional. I was fortunate enough to be born into a family of educators. My sisters were both english majors. That being said, it wasn't easy growing up in the south and always being told "how not to speak". This spilled over into my later years in the military and being a public speaker.
