Voice Description

I am a versatile voice actor that can cover all of your voice over needs. My solid character base is adaptable to the individual needs of any project. Vocally, I can range from crazy, zany, over-the-top caricatures to a more average and natural guy on the street. Depending on the project, I range from upscale, professional, and credible to the more casual, laid back, and edgy vibe. I have no problem pushing and then pulling back, allowing me to transition from offbeat, quirky, and maybe slightly kooky or nutty, approaches to a believable, down to earth, conversational delivery.

My voice can also run the gamut of emotions. From bright and cheery to dark and foreboding, warm and sincere to cold and distant, I effectively convey the emotional subtleties. Whether it be happy, jolly, sad, ecstatic, agitated, angry, disappointed, satisfied, relieved, concerned, surprised, confused, worried, jealous, envious, rejected, hopeful, amazed, astounded, or even the occasional nonplussed, I can connect emotionally to the piece.

Using my eye and ear for interpreting copy, my tone can vary from clear, concise, trustworthy, and authoritative to agitated to cautionary to apathetic. Additionally, my expressive voice and vocal quirks lends itself to a variety of characters in the voice over world. My resonant voice ranges from deep to a high falsetto, from sincere, believable, convincing, casual average voices to upbeat, ditzy, fun and funny, humurous, silly, comedic, outlandish parody characters. One moment I can be a smooth, rich, fast-talking salesman, and the next I keep it interesting by morphing into a laid back, spaced out, and mellow California surfer stoner kind of character. As soon as you hear me as a naive, young kid, I can come back as a sexy, sultry man with an agenda, or, to keep in touch with my sentimental side, a romantic, dedicated lover. My intelligent, articulate newsy newscaster can give way to a stupid, slow Southern redneck or even a country cowboy, my boisterous, boastful superhero is only a cover for my snide, snickering, evil sinister villain, and an uptight, stereotypical nerd or professor or monotonous monotone lecturer can transform into a hip, cocky, cheeky, rude smartass gangster or rapper.

I can differentiate and establish character attitudes, whether it be cheesey and campy, enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, silly, relaxed, friendly, caring, serious, authoritative, wry and bored, folksy, flippant and sarcastic, argumentative, deadpan, or even annoying and downright perky.

In addition, I can perform several accents and dialects, including Standard British, Cockney, and US Southern (Appalachian Upper Class and Plantation Drawl). On top of that, I can emulate a variety of speech impediments. I am practiced in stammering, lisps, lateral lisps, a spitty lisp, and popped p's.

I am confident that I can represent your scripts effectively, whether it be a classic, dramatic read or a more contemporary piece. No matter what the piece, I am truly dedicated and focused and strive to ensure that each read is engaging, entertaining, creative, and perfect for the client. I take direction very well and am entirely directable, and would be an invaluable addition to your future projects.

My Voice Experience

In my life, voice over work has always been the one thing I come back to. It is a constant, a part of me I plan to explore as long as I can. I have served as an announcer at several events for the Special Olympics, a recorded voice for stage productions at Elizabeth Howard's Curtain Call Dinner Theater and the Academy of Performing Arts, and recently recorded some short children's stories for the students at local elementary schools. I have been featured in several original cast albums of musicals I have done locally, and finally, I serve as the voice of Target when I work there as an operator.I also won first place in the Speech Contest in fifth grade.

My Training

My primary education in the voice over industry stems from eminent voice over artist and director William Williams, who also runs Aliso Creek Productions.

I attended OCHSA (Orange County High School of the Arts), where I majored in musical theater and performed in the traveling singing group First Act while actively performing in shows. From there, I attended the Academy of Performing Arts, where I studied musical theater and theater. In that time, I also participated in the traveling performing groups Broadway On Tour and America's Kids.

I also benefit from my years of performing professionally in musical theater, theater, film, and television, and my time as an anchor on my high school's news program, Griffin News.

My Studio Equipment

My studio equipment includes a Samson CO1U USB Studio Condenser Mic and Audacity for recording and editing.

Additional Skills

I am very perceptive, and have an ear and eye for grasping and getting in tune with the objective of writing material. My years in musical theater are a testament to my singing ability and I am comfortable in all public speaking scenarios.

I am friendly, reliable, dedicated, and strive to create the director's vision at all times.
