Voice Description

I can sing all styles, including rock, R&B, classical, and opera, but especially blues and country. I have a classic singing voice with a nice vibrato. My speaking voice can easily sound young and simple, but I can also speak with a deep, warm, and inviting sound. I have a wide range; I am playful and creative and can make my voice do anything! I can sound goofy, silly, strange, like cartoon characters, with scratchyness, stuffiness, warbling, or bizarre accents. I can sound sexy, smooth, hot, breathy, flirtatious. I can sound small, young, fragile, mousy, timid. I can sound strong, powerful, forceful, intimidating. I can sound smooth, even, clear and professional. I'm a vocalist! Challenge me!

Spanish is my second language. I am not fluent, but I can read well. I speak Spanish with a Castillian accent, as I learned in Spain.

I would love to be singing, but I am delighted to do voice acting and voice overs as well. I want to sing jingles or do voice acting for animated films with or without singing. I would love to do children's books. I am happy to do voice overs, voice mail greetings, voice acting, phone greetings, on hold messages, demos, voices for games. I'm essentially interested in any voice jobs, auditions, or employment.

My Voice Experience

My acting experience thus far has been on stage, in theater productions of plays and musicals. I played lead roles in Godspell and Fiddler on the Roof in St. Louis, Missouri. I also performed with Opera Theater of St. Louis in a supporting role. I perform my original songs, singing and playing my guitar, usually with my vocal trio, Trillium, regularly in the Puget Sound area. I read to my two children every night, in character, so I have extensive experience with children's books and children's characters.

My Training

I have been a singer since I was a child and have extensive vocal training in many different contexts, from stage voice coaching to choral music. I learned to read and write music when I was eight years old and continued to have private lessons and classes in music, singing, and acting until I was eighteen. Most recently, here in Seattle, I've been studying Free Range Voice in private lessons with Lucia Neare for the last two years.

I am creative, driven, warm, and professional. I get along well with even hard to get along with people. I have extensive training in group facilitation and conflict resolution which means, I always bring out the best in people in group settings. If you only have some ideas about what you want, but you aren't sure about the specifics, I can help. I write music too. If you want someone who can take orders from a few different people and help bring a team together, I can do that. I take orders well. I can be self directed as well. You can give me vague ideas and let me play with them, or you can give me very specific intructions. If you want someone who learns fast, has a great ear for mimicry, who can get in, do what's needed, get out, that's me too.
