Voice Description

I have quite a varied voice, useful to many different projects. First and foremost is my deep voice. Its not quite at the James Earl Jones level, but of most people I meet it is the deepest. At the same time, I can keep my words enunciated and clear, so my message does not become garbled.

I have a fun personality that I think comes through in my voice. This is not always the case, however. I have a large vocal range from lighthearted and fun, to serious and professional, to dark and evil, and pretty much anything in between. I pride myself on the range I can perform. I view my voice as an instrument and artform that I strive to improve on everyday.

I have a range of characters at my disposal as well. These include, but are not limited to:

"Steve" whom slurs his "s" and is a bit of a nerd;

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I have been told by native British speakers, that I can perform a perfect London accent. By shifting this voice a bit, I can also use an Australian accent. While I do not know Spanish well, what little I do know sounds good.

My Voice Experience

I have acted in several plays, demonstrating my clear, yet loud voice. Mostly, however, my experience comes from practicing a bit everyday to myself.

As one of my hobbies, roleplaying is a fantastic way to not only further my ability to speak in many different ways, but also to increase my self-confidence and range of characters. This is a very effective method of gaining voice experience, in my opinion, due to the amount of interaction that must be done with a group of people, and the amount of characters I switch between while we are playing. In addition, it is all improvised, which helps with the need to not only get into character, but also to learn how different people would react. In short, roleplaying is good exercise when trying to understand a voice-over role and learn how that role would react to stimuli.

My Training

I have not had any formal training in voice-acting. The closest I have come is attempting to mimic most any voice I come across. I have been doing this on a regular basis since the late 90's, but have been interested in voice-acting since I was a child.
