Voice Description
I am a professionally trained News Anchor/Reporter (18 years) in the business. I have hosted telethons, so my voice can be warm and compassionate. I have a deep voice. Of course having anchored for 18 years, I have a very professional and smooth delivery when it comes to news, training videos and presentations. I feel my voice has range and flexibility too. For instance, I've covered everything from tragedies and train wrecks, to State Fairs and Kentucky Derbies. My voice can be fun and sexy if the delivery requires it. In 2000 I hosted Raleigh's portion of the national HGTV Christmas Special. I have never been a smoker, but my voice has a sultry sound at times, with a broad range.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
As far as accents, I really haven't tried, but I'm game for anything. I like to tease my children in an English accent, and when I get my "mean momma" on, I tend to go low and threatening. I also enjoy talking baby-talk to the kiddo's. I can be quite imaginative with my voice, and I'm not afraid to step out and try something new and admit if and when it fails.
My Voice Experience
My voice over experience extends from my Television news career. I've done a few outside projects, one was a phone answering system years ago,and for the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh.
I think if you've got experience in front of the camera and on the radio then you can do almost anything with your voice. For many years, I hosted the Children's Miracle Network Telethon in the various different markets I've been in. I have a compassion for children, so they always chose me to host. I've also hosted a primetime local program called "Baby Your Baby".
I started my broadcast career in radio in 1988 at KXLK radio station in Wichita, Kansas, my hometown. KEYN FM 103 hired me as part of their morning "zoo" team. I delivered the news and was teased relentlessly by the other two men on the show.
From there, I went to work for the local CBS Television station doing news. I worked my way up reporter, health reporter to morning anchor and then Weekend anchor. In 1995, I went to KOCO, channel 5, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City to anchor the 5pm Newscast with Jennifer Eve. In 1998, my career took me to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina where I anchored the 10pm Newscast for the Fox-WB affiliate WLFL 22. In 2001 I left for Louisville Kentucky and WHAS 11 News, the ABC affiliate. In 2004, I got out of broadcasting and into Real Estate. I long to get back into the broadcast business with voice-over and on-camera work.
My Training
I graduated from Wichita State University in 1987 with a degree in Radio-TV-Film and a minor in Journalism.
I began an internship at a local radio station in college and have done voice work ever since then.
I spent 18 years in front of the camera doing Television news, Telethons, and various Journalism projects.

Additional Skills
I love people and it shows in the enthusiasm in my voice. I always get compliments on my voice (especially from men) It has a professional quality, but as I've stated above, it has many facets, fun, sexy, determined, warm, compassionate. Of course as a Television News Anchor, I've hosted documentaries for various local tv stations. I've also been a health reporter and hosted a program in Primetime called "Baby Your Baby".
I now sell real estate and do well, but I'm longing to get back to my roots.
