Voice Description
Mine is a mid- to low-range voice used very smoothly and plied versatilely to suit the occasion. My voice is perfect for the warm, re-assuring, professional deliveries demanded by banks, jewelers, hospitals, tourism boards and the like. It is also well applied to higher energy, fun reads necessary in many vehicular commercials such as automobiles, motorcycles, and boats. Other aspects would include growly, gravelly, matter-of-fact, whispery, professional, aloof, dryly conversational.

My Voice Experience
I began my voice over career after the resurrection of my on-air radio presence. Working mostly morning shifts gave me the rest of the day to field freelance voice jobs. Despite exiting radio again some years ago and holding several other professional positions subsequently, I have never forsaken the commercial voice work. Until recently, I depended entirely on local production houses to line up my work; recently, however, I built my own studio to broaden my presence and make voice work my full time profession.
My Training
I worked several semesters for Henderson State University's radio station, KSWH, while pursuing my education degree. Upon graduation in 1980, I went straight away into radio, where I learned about becoming a personality/performer and the long, arduous acquisition of the skills needed for commercial voice over work. My years as a DJ taught me higher energy deliveries; my years as a newsman taught me flatter, drier reads with long form pacing; I learned production while giving voice to copy before and after air shifts.
My Studio Equipment
Rode NT 1 mic, Mbox, Mac computer, Pro Tools production software, padded cell (quiet room).
