Voice Description
Most of my experience is in announcer copy when the project was looking for an "everyman" rather than a typical over-the-top, in-your-face announcer. I can push myself into those directions, too, but that's not the work I've gotten. I am also a trained actor and director, so I can give you a variety of character voices and a nuanced performance.

My Voice Experience
I've spent my career behind the console, recording literally thousands of hours of voice-over. That means a lot of voice directors, commercial producers and writers have heard my voice for even longer than any voice-over actor. Consequently, I got asked occasionally to do a little voice work early in my career. So here I am, doing a little voice work. My experience on the other side of the microphone can help you in many ways. You never have to worry about me trying to balance technical recording issues with my voice because the technique of recording is second nature to me, so the voice will never suffer and you'll always get impeccably recorded tracks. I also instinctively anticipate how my voice will fit into the whole of your project, because I've been on the other end fitting voices into projects. I also studied acting and directing when I was in college and have a good understanding of how to get and give the best performance for any project.
My Training
BA in Theatre Arts and Communications. Twenty years professional experience in The Business.
My Studio Equipment
Cascade microphone, Tube MP pre-amp (with custom tube, not the piece of crap they ship with the unit), Pro Tools|HD or LE, Source Connect, Source Live, phone patch, Waves and assorted plugins. I have years of experience using ISDN interfaces, too, and have access to a Telos X-Stream at a nearby music studio. That studio also has a bitchin' mic closet including a Neumann TLM-170 and a Sennheiser 416, Manley Slam and Focusrite Red pre-amps, and I can bring my Source Connect there, too. Technology need not be your concern with me.
Additional Skills
I am a faculty brat and one of the many things I got from my father is a love of learning. What this means to you is I read a lot of technical writing in every field (computers, string theory, political science, economics, English grammar, philosophy, etc) and that reading means I'm comfortable saying a lot of technical jargon out loud. I can also help you edit or write copy easily, but will never be a grammar Nazi on you. (I was one of the people who fiercely defended Apple's "Think Different" tag line when some insisted it should be "Think Differently.")
