My Voice Experience

I have had 20 years experience as a radio voice talent and have logged thousands of hours reading voice-overs behind the production room mic. Those experiences have given me a versatile range of presentations. I can sound young and enthusiastic for a "Dude!" spot, or warm and sincere for a funeral home ad. I feel I excel at a conversational delivery for a "30-something husband" kind of sound. This works really well for on hold messages as well as TV VO's. I can also pull off a very professional delivery without sounding totally boring, which is great for voicemail menus and corporate narration. Actually pulled off quite a few charcter voices during a morning show gig too. I follow direction very well and will work with you to get it right. Give me a shot and I won't disappoint you.

My Training

Went to college for communications but learned 100 times more at my first radio job. I have always worked with program directors who critiqued often and production directors who demand the best from each voice. I am also a copy writer and can really relate well to a script from a conceptual perspective. Writing short fiction is a hobby of mine and I listen to a lot of books on tape. I believe I can read from a writer's "voice" and would like to work in that arena as well.

Our small home-based company, Tophoney Creative Services, serves a growing list of clients. I currently voice everything from church podcasts to high-energy car commercials. I do my own digital editing and production with access to a variety of sound effects and music beds. I've spent a ton on the right gear to get the best sound.
