Voice Description

My signature voice is a baritone with warm tones. I excel at medical/health related copy. But I am flexible and have good control of a tenor sound which is good for upbeat, fun copy. My style is often described as "musical." In other words, I have a good control of tempo and pitch. I have no regional accent with very clean but not stuffy diction. I also write copy and have an educated vocabulary so narrations jammed with terms are not a problem.

My Voice Experience

From a double breasted blazer wearing upper crust snob to a t-shirt wearing guy in the cheap seats, I have done it all. After breaking in with industrials in the medial field, I did some heard sell "Big voice" fast read 60s. Lately, I have concentrated on the non-announcer, but polished sound. My voice print is often described as "unique" without being weird. I am a warm, friendly, up beat, knowledgeable man and it comes through in my voice. Years of piano playing help keep my reads musical and flowing.

My Training

Master's degree in radio and television from Syracuse University.
Work shop and private training with Kat lehman, Martha Miahkiss and Marc Cashman.
Additionally, I have worked in television production for over 25 years; doing a million scratch tracks; some which have gotten on the air because they thought my voice was the talent's.

Various USB microphones, Twisted wave soft ware at home plus easy access to ISDN Pro-Tools, etc

Additional Skills

Perhaps my strongest talent in addition to my voice is my writing ability. I write and record copy nearly every day in my profession as a television entertainment news producer/writer/director. I have directed sessions with dozens of nationally know talent including Randy Thomas.
