Voice Description

My natural voice is often described as being a very sensual, breathy and soft baritone which is similar to Sean Connery. I can use my voice tones and control my voice in various ways to produce many effects from extended vocal techniques to regional dialects.

Many years of working in environments where I communicate on the phone has given me the ability to adapt my voice to be everything from an authoritative manager to a fun and flirty salesman.

I also have extensive experience of providing vocals in a wide variety of different styles for numerous projects with artists in the UK and the USA. My vocal range is similar to Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Audioslave) although I can sing everything from soul to opera as required.

My Voice Experience

I have just started actively seeking work with voice overs after being told by many people that my voice is well suited to it. I often recorded the answering machine and call-waiting messages for companies I've worked for in the past and had people ask "Are you that voice guy?!" when they come through to me on the phone. Basically, my voice is well suited to performance although, due to a lack of knowledge about how to become involved in the industry, I have only recently decided to take it seriously and research it deeper.

Additional Skills

I can complete recordings within a very short period of time and produce them to a professional standard providing a prompt and high quality service. As already stated, I have a lot of experience with using my voice in my work in situations which require the ability to control the conversation and lead the caller to a desired outcome. I study Neuro Linguistic Programming and hypnotherapy in my own time which has helped me a great deal in learning how to pace speech, use voice tone and create emotion in a listener.
