Voice Description

I've been told that I have a "radio" voice that's perfect for commercials. I'm also a poet so I speak with the natural inflections of cadence and nuance. I've lived in the south most of my adult life but I don't have a southern accent. Most people think I'm from up north but I've never lived there. My father was in the Air Force so I lived in many different places growing up and was born in the Panama canal zone when it was still a US possession.

My Voice Experience

I grew up speaking very fast, so fast that it caused me to stutter until I took speach therapy to get me to slow down.
Now, even though I have to concentrate to speak so that I don't lose southerners (I live in the Atlanta area) I can read anything clearly. I'm also told that I have what people consider a British accent which isn't true because I've worked with Brits and they always ask me if I'm from Indiana.

My Training

The only training I've had is my speech therapy and I read my poetry at open mic nights in Atlanta.

My Studio Equipment

None. I have a microphone at my computer so I would have to go to a studio to do a professional recording.

Additional Skills

I'm also an English major so I know how to write expressively and creatively.
