Voice Description
From original poetry comes a warm, comfortable narrative voice for children's books, e-greeting cards, books or other documentaries.
The experience gained at KCLU (NPR - 88.3 FM) as an on-air host, newscaster and PSA writer, has enabled the voice to be steady, calm and reassuring.
Just the voiceover talent one would need for an "on-hold" telephone message, or other message services.

My Voice Experience
Live, on-air newscasts (a definite favorite, as one must speak extemporaneously) as a news-stringer reporter for KFWB news 980 AM; these and other experiences give the ability to "think on one's feet".
Public speaking (The Weather Channel as an independent contractor), and university instruction (University of Phoenix) also lend the skills to speak in a variety of situations.
2000 - Performed in a 30 minute video: "Careers in Meteorology" - The Weather Channel.

This podcast discussed and publicized RADIO (Radio Amateurs and Disaster Operations, the nation's first high school disaster preparedness class.)
My Training
Classes were taken at California State University, Northridge (during the 1980s) with a focus on various accents (British, both Cockney, Oxford, and Liverpudlian - think of "John Lennon". Also able to perform Middle Eastern and Latin American accented voices).
Later, telephone greeting messages were generated (1990s) with an ear toward humorous voicemail greetings or voicemail messages.
Voice acting in different venues, coupled with the journalism experiences give a reliable radio voice for you to audition and utilize.
