Voice Description

My voice is very baritonal with a lot of expression and over the years, I have done thousands of radio and televison commericals requiring many different types of delivery.

I can do nearly everything from high energy spots to sultry and sexy.

My voice is also rather "rubbery," in that I can make it sound like characters in a cartoon or "bend" it to make it go higher and lower than its natural range, something that comes in handy for creating characters.

My Voice Experience

I started in radio when I was high school. I had my own radio program on a local radio station at the age of 15.

Later, I worked as a newscaster and also sold radio advertising for many years. In this capacity, I did a lot of production work and was the voice talent for many of the radio spots in my local market, many of them character voices.

I've also done a fair amount of acting in both amateur and dinner theater roles. I studied drama in college and was in many college plays and musicals.

I also sing and took operatic voice lessons for many years and was a member of a semi-profesional opera company.

My Training

While working in small market radio, I spent a good deal of time experimenting with my voice.

I did thousands of radio and television spots, many of them were my own accounts since I was also working in radio sales.

Here in the Philadelphia market, I voiced some spots for a studio called Soundbyte. One of which was a spot for a restaurant chain and the other a character voice for a nightclub.

While working in newscasting, I developed a controlled natural delivery but I also enjoyed going in the studio and experimenting with different character voices and other ways of shaping and molding my voice to develop range.
