My Voice Experience

Professionally, I have recorded voice overs for two television commercials for Gizmo Pictures, a local production company. One spot was humorous in nature, the other informative.

I have also recorded one audiobook for Mr. David Malki (entitled Dispatches from Wondermark Manor, vol I) which is to be released this spring.

As a child, my grandfather worked for the local PBS affiliate station, and I was one of a small group of children who read the on-air imaging spots for the underwriters who supported various children's programming. I recorded several spots over a period of five years or so. This was the beginning of my love affair with voice acting.

In addition to my professional experience, I have spent a lot of time with home recording of my own poems, and short humor pieces, honing both my vocal and recording skills.

My Training

Obtained Associate in Arts Degree with a GPA of 3.84 from Allen County Community College in Burlingame, KS. Courses included public speaking and composition classes, in which I received A grades.

Additional Skills

I may be relatively new to the voice over industry, but it is something I have enjoyed and had a passion for throughout most of my life. As stated above, my first taste of "professional" voice over work was as a very young child, for the local PBS station.

I have worked in many fields since then, mostly customer service-related. I have always found that, in my customer service experience, my natural voice talents have helped me get ahead and provide superior job performance. My deep understanding of language and diction has always made me adept at communication; and my clear, even-toned, and easily relatable voice have always put customers at ease when dealing with me. I have taken the opportunity of my many customer service jobs to continually hone my vocal prowess, even when not specifically called to do so. Every phone call I receive, or customer's order I take is another opportunity to display and practice my vocal skills.
