Voice Description

My country of birth is England; I grew up in Sussex and went through the private school system. My father was Scottish and my mother was Southern Irish, but my "natural" accent is middle/upper class non regional English; however, I have a good ear (2 good ears, actually) and a flexible voice, so I can do most English speaking regional accents, including dialects outside the U.K.. Like many men of my generation who have grown up with "The Goons", "Monty Python", and Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, I can do accurate renditions of the voices featured in their repertoire. My voice has also been compared to that of Tim Curry. Oh, by the way, I can also bark like a dog, although my "little" dog bark is more convincing than my "big" dog bark, which is strange 'cause I'm 6ft 7ins, and I weigh 240Ibs!

My Voice Experience

I have been a drama and English teacher for the past 32 years, both in England and the U.S.A., and have, in addition to teaching, utilized my voice talents professionally in local T.V. and radio spots. Also, I have done some T.V. documentary style commentary work. Most notably, my voice can be heard reading sections of a poem I wrote entitled "The Teardrop", on Armand Van Helden's "Nympho" CD.

My Training

I have a B.Ed in Speech & Drama from Exeter University, where I specialized in acting and directing. I took further classes at Kristi's Talent Agency, in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I eventually went on to become a voice coach and acting instructor.
